RN – Emergency Room Nurse, ACU

  • Location: Ferry County Health, Republic, WA 99166
  • Employment Type: Permanent – Full Time
  • Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM (1800–0630)

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $73,028.80 – $122,220.80 (DOE)
  • Sign-On Bonus: $25,000.00
  • (Must have prior Emergency Room experience)

Job Summary:

The Emergency Room Nurse (RN) provides direct and indirect patient care in the emergency, acute care, outpatient, and swing bed settings. This position requires flexibility, initiative, and professional responsibility with minimal supervision. The nurse triages patients efficiently and accurately, prioritizing care based on physical and psychosocial needs, and communicates patient status effectively to providers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care and evaluate outcomes
  • Complete orientation and training checklists
  • Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments
  • Conduct timely triage and assign accurate acuity levels
  • Assess and manage patient pain; educate and document accordingly
  • Monitor and interpret patient hemodynamic status
  • Identify and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Conduct and interpret waived point-of-care testing
  • Administer medications safely, following the 7 rights
  • Prepare, administer, and discontinue IV fluids aseptically
  • Document nursing assessments, patient history, treatment, and responses in the EHR
  • Comply with provider orders and ensure patient safety
  • Address psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families
  • Provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan
  • Actively participate in plan of care formation with patients and families
  • Support and maintain a culture of safety, quality, and professionalism

Professional Requirements:

  • Regularly check and respond to hospital email and Qliq messages
  • Complete all required training within designated timeframes
  • Attend 75% of staff meetings and review meeting minutes as necessary
  • Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) activities
  • Comply with HIPAA and hospital confidentiality standards
  • Represent Ferry County Health professionally within the facility and community
  • Meet departmental dress code and behavioral standards

Qualifications:

Education & Licensing:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current RN license (Washington State)
  • Current AHA BLS certification
  • AHA ACLS certification (within 6 months of hire)
  • TNCC certification (within 6 months of hire)
  • NRP certification (within 1 year of hire)
  • AHA PALS certification (within 6 months of hire)

Skills & Abilities:

Language:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional literature and regulations
  • Competent in writing reports and presenting information effectively

Mathematical:

  • Proficient in applying statistical and mathematical concepts in practical settings

Reasoning:

  • Capable of solving problems with limited standardization and interpreting varied instructions
